Paramedic Starts on the Collier Campus Summer 2012
The applications will be accepted in the following ways:
IN PERSON - Applications will be accepted in person at the Edison State College Lee Campus, Building B, Room 115b on February16 through April 5th, 2012, Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm Applications that are not complete will not be accepted, and will be returned to you.
Applications will be accepted in person at the Charlotte Campus Building C-103 or the Collier Campus room E-207 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Call 239-489-9108 OR 239-601-5163 to make an appointment.
BY MAIL - Applications received by mail must be postmarked February16 through April 5th, 2012.
Applications that are not complete will not be accepted, and will be returned to you.

Emergency Medical Service Technology Program
The Emergency Medical Services Technology Program is designed to prepare the student to become a competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and/or Paramedic. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in conjunction with the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). The EMS certificate programs (EMT and Paramedic) are limited admission, requiring completion of the Application for EMS Programs, and acceptance into the program by the College EMS department. The Associate in Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services Technology consists of three sequential components. Successful completion of each component will fulfill requirements for the affiliated Florida State certification. Students looking to continue their education will be eligible for admission into the Edison State College Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Public Safety Administration.

Required for Florida EMT and National Registry Certification The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program is one semester and 11 college credit hours in length, offered in the fall and spring semesters. Summer sessions may be scheduled as approved by the department. Estimated program costs are $2,200 for Florida residents and $5,300 for non-Florida residents. This includes tuition, lab fees, textbooks, uniforms, insurance and equipment. Refer to the Edison State College website for financial aid information. To be eligible to sit for the Florida EMT exam, students must successfully complete the EMT Certificate Program. The program includes lecture hours, laboratory hours, hospital clinicals, and internship/ride time experience. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the clinical sites. Specific information will be provided the first week of class. Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a college completion certificate and the necessary paperwork required to apply for both Florida EMT and National Registry certifications.
