  • Executive VP introduces QEP process to deans, chair and faculty at Academic Forum (November)
  • Executive VP establishes QEP Planning Committee (November)
  • Baseline Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE) administered (November)
  • QEP Planning Committee holds initial meeting, reviewing QEP requirements (December)
  • Committee shares QEP handbook and College priorities and goals document with Student Services, and requests input  (December)
  • College team participates in SACS COC Annual Meeting (December)

Spring 2009

  • College community offers ideas for QEP topic
    • Faculty and Staff Professional Development Days session (January)
    • Faculty Senate district meeting (January)
    • Administrative Council (January)
    • Focus sessions for Student Services Council; Admissions, Registration and Financial Aid group; and representatives from Advising and Student Life (January)
  • QEP Planning Committee examines longitudinal data from various student surveys as part of topic selection process
  • QEP Planning Committee oversees categorization of suggestions under broad categories and identifies top choices (January)
  • Executive VP and QEP Planning Committee review top choices and make recommendation to the college President and Campus Presidents for QEP topic (February)

Summer 2009

  • College representatives participate in Liaison Meeting for Foundations of Excellence (FOE)

Fall 2009

  • College community engages in FOE self-study, applying Foundational Dimensions Model:  Philosophy, Organization, Learning, Campus Culture, Transitions, All Students, Diversity, Roles and Purposes, Improvement
  • FOE student survey administered
  • FOE faculty survey administered

Spring 2010

  • Results of Foundations of Excellence self-study affirm the first-year experience program as the broad QEP topic

Summer 2010

  • Foundations of Excellence Steering Committee produces final report, informing the first-year experience program and development of required course

Fall 2010

  • QEP Planning Committee begins development of First-Year Experience Course

    • Course description and topic outline

    • Assessment and Measurements of course outcomes
  • QEP Planning Committee establishes task forces for development of QEP activities and budgets
  • QEP Steering Committee submits draft outline of QEP to ESC Academic Community for comment ( December)

Spring 2011

  • QEP Planning Committee provides progress report during Professional Development Days
  • Leadership Team identifies potential QEP reviewers (   )
  • QEP Coordinator contacts potential QEP reviewers
  • Accreditation Leadership Team submits to SACS COC the names of individuals confirmed to serve as QEP reviewers (no later than ??)
  • QEP Planning Committee reviews initial draft of QEP (February)

  • QEP Planning Committee submits draft to College community for comment (August)

Fall 2011

  • QEP Planning Committee submits draft to College community for comment (August)
  • QEP document submitted to SACS COC (six weeks before Sept visit)
  • On-Site Review Committee conducts visit (November)
  • ESC representatives attend SACS COC Annual Meeting (December)

Spring 2012
