Tutoring Services at the Charlotte Campus provides free tutoring in a variety of introductory and advanced courses for interested Edison State College students.    Both professional and peer tutors assist students with course content and learning strategies.  Students may schedule appointments or just walk in during “open lab” hours.

We also offer Smart Thinking, an online tutoring service that is particularly valuable to students who need help outside of the Center hours. You may use the whiteboard and chat live with an e-instructor, or submit an essay and have it proofread and critiqued within 24 hours.

What does it take to become a peer tutor?

To be considered as a prospective peer tutor, students must:

• Qualify to work at Edison State College
• Have an overall GPA of 3.0
• Be recommended by a professor.
• Have an “A” or “B” in the subject they would like to tutor.
• Complete  the application process
