The Tutoring Center at the Charlotte Campus provides free tutoring in a variety of introductory and advanced courses for interested Edison State College students. Both professional and peer tutors assist students with course content and learning strategies.
The Edison State College, Charlotte Campus, Tutoring Program has received International Tutor Program Certification (ITPC) through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Peer Tutors receive ten hours of tutor training and are eligible for Tutor Certification after 25 hours of tutoring.
Students may schedule appointments or just walk in during open lab hours. To request a tutor, please visit the Academic Success Center and and complete a Peer Tutor request form.
What does it take to become a Peer Tutor?
To be considered as a prospective Peer Tutor, students must:
- Qualify to work at Edison State College
- Have an overall GPA of 3.0
- Be recommended by a professor
- Have an “A” or “B” in the subject they would like to tutor
- Complete the application process
