SERVICES
Drop-in help in college level coursework including college algebra, trig, calculus and statistics is available at the center during the operating hours of 8am-9pm M-F, plus specified Saturdays. Some subjects, such as statistics and calculus require specific expertise from our Instructional Assistants. For these subjects, call 239-732-3773 for availability.
Drop-in help for Composition (ENC1101 and ENC 1102) classes is available for most hours of operation. Appointments are also available. Call 239-732-3773 for times or for initial appointments.
Computer assistance for the basic computer classes (CSG 1100 ) is available most nights. Call for hours, 239-732-3773.
Help in Accounting 1, 2 and 3 is available nights and Saturdays. Call 239-732-3773 for times.
- COLLEGE PLACEMENT TEST (CPT)
Resources are available to help with practicing for the college placement test (FCLEPT). These resources include tutors, computer programs, and study packets.
- COLLEGE PREP
Resources are available for these classes and vary for each subject. For reading and English classes, there are computer programs such as the Townsend Press, Windows PI, and All Write. These programs focus on vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure. For Math classes, there are computer programs such as My Math Lab and Course Compass. There are also videos for each chapter showing examples of how to do the problems step by step.
The College Prep classes are listed at the 9000 level. These classes are:
REA 9002, REA 9003, ENC 9010, ENC 9020,
ENC 9021, MAT 9002, MAT 9012, MAT 9020,
MAT 9024
Note: Students taking 9000 level classes are encouraged to schedule 1-2 hrs per week at the Academic Success Center.
- ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES (EAP)
Assistance with these classes is provided in the Academic Success Center in the form of tutoring, lab-work evaluation and computer programs.
- TUTORING
Instructional Assistants are always available to help with math and writing related courses; however, tutoring for specialized courses is offered at specific times. Call or stop by the lab to get a current schedule of times. Tutoring services are free of charge.

Can I get help with my college papers?
Yes, highly qualified writing specialists are available at most times. Just come by or call for an appointment (239-732-3773).
Will the Academic Success Center help me get into and succeed in the nursing program or other medical programs?
Definitely! Medical programs like nursing and radiology require top grades in all subjects, including Composition I, College Algebra, and especially Biology courses such as Anatomy and Physiology. Besides our writing and math teachers and tutors, we have biology tutors who will help you excel in these vital prerequisite courses.
Can I get help in my other subjects such as Psychology or Spanish?
Yes, our tutors come from a variety of backgrounds and can help in every subject that Edison offers. We can look over your papers or help you study for your test.
