Proud to be Tobacco Free

Edison State College is committed to providing a healthy working and learning environment and recognizes the increasing weight of scientific evidence that smoking is harmful not only to the active smoker but also to the "passive" smoker who is exposed to others' smoke.

As campus president, I have to consider the well being of everyone who enters our campus, from the children at the childcare center, to our students, faculty and staff. Being tobacco/smoke free reduces air carcinogens, including asthma causing particles and increases the overall air quality on campus. Becoming a Tobacco free campus is just another way Edison State College is dedicated to environment sustainability.

I appreciate everyone affiliated with the Collier Campus embracing this change, and taking a step toward a healthier, safer campus environment.

Dr. Robert R. Jones
Collier Campus President
