Here are some ways that your gift can have significant impact on students, faculty, and the overall educational experience at Edison.
Where Most Needed: Many donors, after meeting with our development team or touring the campus, prefer that their gift be used “where most needed” as determined by the foundation for our most pressing needs. This option allows for the greatest flexibility
Support for an Endowed Faculty Chair: Edison State College faculty members represent a broad range of educational experience and expertise. An endowed faculty chair will allow for Edison State College to recruit the brightest and best to Southwest Florida.
Endowed Fund for Academic Advancement: With 8 four-year degree programs, 10 2-year degree programs, a collegiate high school, museums, state-of-the art libraries, online opportunities and much more, Edison State College is continually evolving to provide the best academic experience for students at all levels. Donors play a huge role in providing much-needed support for the student academic experience. An endowed fund for academic advancement will support the academic need of a specific program.
Endowed Scholarship Fund: An endowed fund will provide financial assistance to a student(s) who apply based on financial need, merit, or a combination of both. Endowed scholarship funds last in perpetuity. The donor works closely with foundation staff members to design unique parameters for the scholarship at its initial creation.
Named Building or Rooms: As Edison State College continues to grow at each of its campuses, building support will be critical for technological improvements, lab enhancements, material support, and faculty support. Donors may choose to name a building to support construction and on-going development. Teaching rooms, laboratories and offices form a supportive base for faculty and staff to learn, study, instruct, and grow. Donor(s) may honor a living person or memorialize a person. Proceeds will be earmarked to support the current building endowment or for the building’s area of study.
POPs Concert Event Sponsor: The POPs concert is the Edison State College Foundation’s signature fundraising event that supports our general merit scholarship program. These outdoor events are typically held in October of each year and over 3000 guests enjoy music and food. One concert is held on the Charlotte County Campus, and another concert is held on the Lee County campus. Sponsored tables range from $1,500 to $20,000, and include various levels of food, tickets, and promotion.
*Please contact the development office for current approved minimums. The scholarship selection process is managed by the foundation, and is subject to IRS restrictions and guidelines. Major, endowed and planned gifts are subject to review by the finance committee, as the Edison State College Foundation seeks to adhere to both donor intent and best practices for charitable giving.
