Unit 10: Citing Sources
Lesson 6: Works Citied or Bibliography
Works Cited
For each paraphrase, quotation, or summary you include in your paper, you must create a citation in your works cited page. Only include resources that you cited within the body of your paper in a works cited page. A works cited page is also called a list of references.
Bibliography
A bibliography includes each work that you cited within the body of your paper, as well as the sources you consulted, but did not cite within the body of your paper.
Bibliographies & Works Cited pages
Create your works cited page or bibliography in a new blank document at the end of your paper. Be sure to consistently and correctly list each entry. Basic entries include the author’s name, title of the work, and publication date and place. Different types of sources require different pieces of bibliographic information. For example, to cite an article from a periodical, you need the title and page numbers of the article, as well as the journal title and volume and issue numbers. To cite a website, you need the date and place from which you accessed the site, in addition to the URL.
