Unit 5: Search Tools: The Online Catalog
Lesson 11: Search by Subject
To find terms listed within the subject fields of each catalog record, select Subject in the Search by: box, and enter your search term in the search field. You do not have to enter your search terms in any particular order.
Caution: Although searching by Subject is an option in the online catalog, it’s best to search by Keyword to find information on a particular topic. Why? Searching by subject will seriously narrow your results. Searching by keyword will yield the most relevant results, especially at the beginning of your research.
