Unit 5: Search Tools: The Online Catalog
Lesson 15: Sample Search: Location and Availability
To learn the call number, location, and availability status of a particular resource, review the “Location” information at the bottom of the bibliographic record. To find out if the work is available, click on the library location link, for example, “Edison State/Lee.” If a resource is listed as available, write down the “Call Number” and go get your book, DVD, magazine, etc. If the resource is checked out, a due date is listed in the “Due” field. You can request a resource that is listed as available at another campus, or arrange for a resource to be held for you at your home campus as soon as it is returned, by clicking on the “Request” link.
