About Us

The Museum of Medical History provides historical displays depicting the practice of medicine, primarily in Southwest Florida, from the mid-1800s to the 1970s. Exhibits detail the progression of surgery, nursing, human prosthetics, therapeutic and diagnostic devices, and pharmaceutical artifacts.
Housed in an 1,800-square-foot gallery within the nursing building on the Lee Campus, the Museum opened in November of 2010, culminating nearly two years of collaboration with its founders, surgeons Roger Scott, M.D., and Jacob Goldberger, M. D. The Museum honors the memory of Goldberger's partner, Dr. David Bernstein.
The Museum is dedicated to protecting, preserving and interpreting the history and development of medicine.
