ACLS CERTIFICATION
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Certification is for healthcare professionals who respond to cardiovascular emergencies in and out of the hospital enhance their treatment knowledge and skills through the AHA’s ACLS training courses. The advanced cardiac life support course is designed for medical providers such as Physicians, Nurses (Students, LPN and RN’s), Paramedics (EMT Basics Welcome), Respiratory Therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency. This 2 day course will be held on Friday, March 16th from 3pm to 10pm and Saturday, March 17th from 9am to 3pm. Cost is $250.

EVERYDAY SPANISH FOR NURSES
Have you ever had difficulty communicating with someone who speaks another language? It is difficult to communicate language barriers in everyday situations, and can be even more frustrating in the work place. The nurses and medical staff in hospitals, and outpatient offices are the frontline when treating patients. We would like to help you overcome these barriers. Edison State College is now offering a 5 week, 15 hour Spanish for Nurses course. Learning everyday medical terminology in Spanish can increase productivity and efficiency as well as reduce frustration and lack of communication. Classes are held on Saturdays starting March 17th at 9am to 12 noon. Cost of course is $165 and does not include textbook.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM
This course is designed to prepare the participant for eligibility to become a Pharmacy Technician. In addition, participants will be qualified to apply for certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and will meet the training requirements of the State Board of Pharmacy. This 14 week course combines 84 hours of classroom instruction with 80-hour externship coordinated by ESC to provide student with a complete learning experience. Pre-requisites include no felonies, or misdemeanors related to the use, sale or purchase of drugs, no outstanding traffic violations or other legal issues (must be settled before the externship), basic computer, high school diploma or GED and commitment to the rigorous 14-week course schedule. Next class meets Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm starting March 19th to June 25th. Cost is $3,750, textbooks NOT included.

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE FOR BEGINNERS-PART 2
This class will cover basics in American Sign Language and is a continuation of the first Beginners class. The class will be held from 6pm to 8pm on January 11th – February 29th. Cost is $165 and class is limited to 10 students.

SCULPTING WITH FABRIC AND PAPER
This class is an exercise in textile and natural fiber sculpting using Paverpol, a textile hardener new to the U.S. Learn about this new medium from Holland that is sweeping the USA and its many artist communities. Hold fabrics and other fibers in “freeze-motion”, seal many other natural items that will be water-proof and may be used inside or outside. This one day class will be held on Saturday, March 24th, from 10am to 4:00pm with ½ hour lunch. Cost is $100. There is also a $35.00 Beginners Kit You will need to obtain from the instructor the first day of class.
