Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology
this course is for students interested in taking the Outpatient Coding Certificate program or just as a tool to obtain more knowledge in this field. We meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30pm starting May 22nd for 5 weeks. Cost is $680, textbooks not included.
Outpatient Coding Certificate Program
This course is designed to provide the student with the practical skills and knowledge needed to begin their coding career. Students must take Medical Terminology for Coding, Anatomy & Physiology through CE prior to taking this course. We meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30pm starting June 26th for 10 weeks. Cost is $2295 with 120 hour Externship and $890 without the externship. Textbooks not included in cost.
Computers for Beginners
This hands-on friendly and fun introductory class addresses what a computer is, what it can do for you, and how to accomplish basic tasks. This course meets on Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm starting May 24th for 4 weeks. Cost is $99.
CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT WITH EXTERNSHIP
This program was designed to provide, thorough classroom and clinical instruction, and basic systems overview of the role of the medical assistant in a clinical setting. Classroom lectures cover the theory, anatomy and terminology pertaining to each system. Clinical instruction provides hands-on training in the listed procedures verified through a skills check-off system. This course provides 162 hours of classroom instruction plus 160 hour externship coordinated by Edison State College. This 13 week course runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm cost is $2650, textbooks not included. Next class begins on May 29th. Register and pay by May 22nd and received a $200 discount. Textbooks not included.
HESI PREP
It is always a good idea to prepare for an exam. This class is designed to assist you in preparing for entrance into the Edison Nursing College. It is based on the Health Education Systems Inc. (HESI) entrance exam. Student taking this course should have already completed the AP1 & AP2 course. The topics covered include: Reading, Vocabulary, & Grammar: Math – Fractions, Ratios and Proportions; Biology, Anatomy and Physiology. This class is held 2 times per semester – please check current schedule for availability. Course Fee is $139. Class is held on Saturdays and begins on June 9th through 16th.
Class C Wastewater Operator
This course prepares the student for the Class “C” Wastewater License State Exam, as well as, provides the student with the practical skills necessary to safely operate and maintain various wastewater treatment systems and appurtenances. Successful completion of this course: requires a grade of “C” or better as evidenced by the final exam; culminates in the receipt of a certificate of completion; and satisfies the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s course prerequisite for taking the State Wastewater Class “C” Exam. The course is a combination of lecture, demonstrations, and plant visits. Class runs for 13 weeks on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5pm to 9pm. Cost is $700, not including textbooks. Class begins on June 5th and runs until August 30th.
EVERYDAY SPANISH FOR MEDICAL CAREGIVERS
Have you ever had difficulty communicating with a patient who speaks another language? It is difficult to communicate through language barriers in everyday situations, and can be even more frustrating and potentially life threatening in medical situations. Edison State College is now offering a 5 week, 15 hour Spanish for Medical Caregivers course. Learning everyday medical terminology in Spanish for Healthcare workers. Cost is $165, textbook not included. Class begins on June 16th and meets on Saturdays 9am to 12 noon.
