Kick off your summer with a variety of Health related courses
AHA HDP CPR Certification
This one day course is for individuals entering the health care workforce. Health care workers need AHA HCP CPR (American Heart Association, Health Care Provider, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation). Upon successful completion of this course the student will show proficiency in the proper assessment and treatment of the adult, child or infant in critical situations such as sudden cardiac arrest, respiratory distress / arrest, or choking. Students will also learn when and how to perform the proper use of an Automatic External Defibrilator (AED) in order to help save a life. Certification is valid for 2 years. Cost is $70, next class begins May 15th from 6:15pm to 10:15pm
Medical Term A&P
The Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology for Coding Certificate Program at Edison State College, Charlotte, will prepare students to join a profitable and forever advancing field in Healthcare. Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology for Coding is a pre-requisite course for students interested in taking the Outpatient Coding Certificate program. Those with working experience in the health care field may opt to test out of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology for Coding for a fee of $35.00 for each test. Course begins June 11th to July 16th from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Cost is $680, textbooks not included.
Outpatient Coding Certificate Program
The Outpatient Medical Coding Certificate Program at Edison State College, Charlotte, will prepare students to join a profitable and forever advancing field in Healthcare. A Medical Coder’s job description ranges from Outpatient Coder to Medical Records Office Manager. This program is designed to provide the student with the practical skills and knowledge needed to begin their coding career. Students must take Medical Terminology for Coding, Anatomy and Physiology for Coding and Outpatient Coding. For a $35.00 fee for each test out, those with working experience in the health care field may opt to test out of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology for Coding. This program meets the 80 hours of instruction required to take the CPC Certification Exam. Course meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm to 9:30pm starting July 2nd to September 24th. Cost is $890, textbooks not included.
