Vet Center Community Outreach Vehicle and Team (Mobile Vet Center)
The Mobile Vet Center is a 38-foot motor coach which has spaces for confidential counseling, and will carry Vet Center Counselors and outreach workers to events and activities in order to reach veterans in broad geographic areas. It will be utilized primarily to provide VA and Vet Center outreach information and direct readjustment counseling to veterans, separating service members and their families in their home community including reserve and National Guard demobilization activities. Although assigned to the Orlando Vet Center the Vehicle will cover the southern half of Florida and will also be a part of the VA’s Emergency Response Network.
Services:
Individual and group counseling for Veterans and their families
Family counseling for military related issues
Military sexual trauma counseling referral
Bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death
Substance abuse assessment and referral
Employment assessment and referral
Veterans benefits information and referral
Community resource information and education
All services confidential and free to eligible Veterans and family members
