The Student Mathematics League is a national competition sponsored by the American Mathematical Association for Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) for students at the level of precalculus mathematics. The competition consists of exams administered in two parts at individual college campuses across the country -- one sixty-minute exam in the fall, and one sixty-minute exam in the spring. Each exam consists of 20 questions, and students are allowed to use any scientific or graphing calculator that does not have a QWERTY (i.e., typewriter) keyboard.
Professor Don Ransford, sponsor of the Euclidean Society, would like to thank those students who took time to participate in either round of the competition. Students who will be returning to Edison State College, will have taken College Algebra by this fall, and are interested in participating in this event should look for an announcement sometime toward the end of September.
