CLASS 1 – DEVELOPMENT: TURNING YOUR IDEA INTO A SHOOTING SCRIPT
CLASS 2 – PREPRODUCTION: CASTING, SCHEDULING, AND ASSIGNING FILM CREW ROLES
CLASS 3—PRODUCTION I: DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA AND SOUND BASICS
CLASS 4—PRODUCTION II: DIRECTING, ACTING AND INTERVIEWING FOR THE CAMERA
CLASS 5 – POST PRODUCTION I: EDITING AND ASSEMBLING THE “ROUGH CUT” MOVIE
CLASS 6—POSTPRODUCTION II: CREATING THE FINE CUT MOVIE & SCREENING YOUR WORK
INSTRUCTOR: Jennifer Marquis-Muradaz
Jennifer Marquis‐Muradaz is a published author with a master’s degree from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, where she worked as a screenplay analyst for Danny DeVito’s Jersey Films and as an international press writer for Fox Television. She also co‐founded the Cynosure Screenwriting Awards, based in LA, and wrote for the Disney television show, “Omba Mokomba.” Her first screenplay, “Motorcycle Man,” was a quarter‐finalist in the Sundance screenwriting competition and was briefly developed at Paramount Pictures. She has co‐written and/or produced multiple feature films, documentaries, short films and public service announcements.

Screenwriting for Beginners
Review Hollywood-produced screenplays, analyze classic Hollywood movies, & master screen storytelling conventions and basic professional screenplay writing. Students complete 30 pages (act one) of a screenplay by final class.
Tuesdays for 6 weeks: April 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31, from 10am to 1pm
At Collier Campus
$260.00, all materials provided by the instructor.
Students are highly encouraged to bring laptops; & must have home computers & internet access to download free online screenwriting software (students who own/use screenwriting-for-pay software may use it).
