“Let the music start, let the curtains part and let the spot light glow!” as “Curtains” is coming to the Edison State College Charlotte Campus stage. Featuring the Tony winning songwriters of Chicago and Cabaret, “Curtains” will grace the Edison stage for three performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15.
The musical comedy whodunit takes place in late 1950’s Boston. Often described as a valentine to show business, “Curtains” pokes fun at the hilarity of show people as the plot centers around the mysterious murder of leading lady Jessica Cranshaw (played by Heather Weir) in the show’s opening night finale. While homicide detective and musical theatre fan Frank Cioffi (Joseph White) is called in to solve the mystery, pushy producer Carmen Bernstein (Korina Chilcoat) insists in the show must go on.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students with ID. The Saturday, April 16 performance features a student special – two tickets for $10. Saturday’s show time is 7:30 p.m. Edison’s final “Curtains” performance is at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 17.
