The Job Fair‘s main focus is on career-track jobs in growth fields. Opportunities will also be available for students currently enrolled in classes.

Edison State students and the public are invited to attend the 2011 Job Fair at Edison State College on April 20th from 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. in Building AA177, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers. Attendees are advised to bring resumes and to dress in business attire for this employment opportunity.

Attendees will be able to meet with representatives from numerous companies in Southwest Florida that are actively hiring. All participating employers will have open positions paying $18,000 or more for jobs requiring a post-secondary education or technical training.

Participating employers include: Lee Memorial Health System, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, Internal Revenue Service, Florida Highway patrol, Shell Point Retirement Community, Cypress Cove @ Health Park, Paramount Logistics,Hope Healthcare Services, Community Coordinated Care for Children, Alorica Inc. , Lifestyles Chiropractic, Securitas Security, Wal- Mart, Edison State College, Direct Sales Connection, and JLodge , Northwestern Mutual Financial network, Advocate Consulting Legal Group, PLLC and others.

Edison State has extensive programs – both Associate and Bachelor Degree level- in various health professions, education, public safety and management, science, mathematics, paralegal and technical support among others. Businesses will find educated, motivated candidates for employment. Past Job Fairs have had attendance of 1200 to 1500 students looking for employment opportunities. Because this is the first Job Fair in partnership with SW Florida Works and open to the public, the number of job seekers is potentially even larger.
