CPR- Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider
This one day course is geared towards the interests and needs of the health professions students and taught by healthcare professionals. It offers a two year certification at completion of the course, which is required for healthcare students and healthcare workers. Upon completion of the course, students will receive their AHA (American Heart Association) Card. Our next class runs from 3pm to 6pm on Friday, May 13, 27, cost is $70.
EKG Certificate Program
This comprehensive 50 hour EKG Technician Certificate Program prepares students to function as EKG Technicians. Upon completion of the course, the students will be qualified to take the Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) exam that is offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). This course will include important practice and background information on anatomy of the heart and physiology, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, the Holter monitor, electrocardiography, and stress testing. This class is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9:30pm starting May 10th – June 30th, textbooks included. Cost is $999.
OPHTHALMOLOGY ASSISTANT PROGRAM
This course will provide student with a basic understanding of the Ophthalmic profession and the skills required to perform common tasks and procedures in the modern Ophthalmology practice and be a valued member of the Ophthalmic practice. This 16 week program meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and 4 Saturdays (Dates TBA). This class begins on May 10th and ends on August 25th. Cost is $1,050, textbooks not included.
MS EXCEL 2007 – PART 2
Class will offer hands-on experience. We will focus on creating spreadsheets using the following topics as a guideline: Edit and Format Using Advanced Techniques, Use of Advanced Formulas, Creating Charts/Graphs, Using Multiple Sheets and Linking Spreadsheets, Key Board Short Cuts. This 2 day course will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 8pm running May 10th & 24th. Cost of course is $80.
COMPUTERS FOR BEGINNERS – LEVEL 2
This hands-on friendly and fun class will take you to the next level on what your computer can do. Windows XP will be used in the class, but most concepts will apply to various operating systems. This course is for those that have completed level 1. Class is held on Thursday evenings from 5pm to 7pm for 4 sessions. Cost is $99.
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN COURSE W/EXTERNSHIP
This course 14 week is designed to prepare the participant for eligibility to become a Pharmacy Technician. In addition, participants will be qualified to apply for certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and will meet the training requirements of the State Board of Pharmacy. This course meets Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm. Cost is $3,900 and includes textbooks.
NURSE REFRESHER COURSE
The Nurse Refresher and Remedial program is an intensive program of didactic hours and clinical experiences meant to prepare or update nurses who wish to return to the nursing force. This program is also approved by the Florida Board of Nursing for remediation of the nursing graduate who has not been successful with the NCLEX-RN exam. Lectures, home studies, skills lab and acute hospital clinical experiences are provided in a relaxed atmosphere to promote learning. Orientation begins on June 4th at 11:00am to 4:00pm followed by a skills labe and 5 weeks of clinicals held on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 7pm. The course is held from June 4th to July 23rd, the cost is $1,500. Textbooks not included.
