The Charlotte Café has a new Manager!

Submitted 08/17/2011

Please welcome Kerrie Marcusson to the Edison State College Charlotte Campus. Kerrie joins us as the new food service manager for Food Services, Inc. Kerrie was born in New Jersey and moved to Florida in 1971. She has lived in Port Charlotte most of her life. She attended Charlotte High School, and served four years in the Marine Corps.

Kerrie has been working in the food business since she was 13. In 1999, she owned a restaurant in Port Charlotte called Simply Café until it was damaged during Hurricane Charley. She was then asked to put a restaurant in the new Elks Club Building in Port Charlotte called Sweet Peppers. She was there for a year and moved to Cleveland, Tennessee where she owned a restaurant called Diamond Lil’s. After five years she decided to sell the restaurant and move back to Port Charlotte. Kerrie brings her experience of being a restaurant owner to the Charlotte Café and is looking forward to providing some new ideas; such as new soups, sandwiches, desserts, drinks, calzones, pizza, and burgers. She also plans to increase the assortment of “grab and go” items.

Kerrie will also be introducing regular fun and friendly theme days such as a Football Party on September 8th and a Luau Party on September 27th. Please stop by and introduce yourself to Kerrie and welcome her to the Charlotte Campus family.
