1. KINDLES
The library now has Kindles available at all campuses for loans to students, staff, and faculty. At the moment, the Kindles are being used to expand the availability of some of the highly used books in our Reserves area, and they will be available for in-library use only. However, it will be possible to transfer the e-books via USB to a personal laptop for a specified period of time. The subject areas covered by the Kindle so far include: History, Humanities, and Nursing.
Please come and check it out! The library staff will be able to assist patrons with learning how to use the Kindles.
2. FILMS ON DEMAND
Edison Library has acquired an excellent new database which makes it possible to stream over 6,000 educational videos from home, school, or wherever! Films On Demand also has special video collections from BBC, PBS, The History Channel, and many others! This is a free service to all Edison students, staff, and faculty.
To access: Patrons will need to have their library borrower ID and pin number ready to sign in with as they would with other databases. If you don’t already have these, please stop by the library, and we will get you set up.
Log into the databases on the library’s homepage, and search alphabetically for the FMG databases.

Browse individual videos in the library’s online catalog by keyword searching for “Electronic Video.”

3. INTERLIBRARY LOAN ONLINE SUBMISSION FORMS
As an Edison State College student, the resources for your research are not limited only to what we have in our library- we can order books and articles for you from other libraries in Florida as well as from libraries nationwide. To make this process easier for you, we have created an online submission form that you can fill out and submit from anywhere, anytime. Patrons must have the information about the item they are looking for to fill out the citation and contact information. The Library Staff will contact you when your request arrives.
