Financial Aid and Tuition Refund Options

Submitted 09/02/2011

If you are new to Edison State College, in the next few days you will receive an Edison OneCard at the address you have on file. Please do not throw this card away. The 16 digits on the card are used to activate your refund preference. You are not activating a credit card.

Edison State College offers students three (3) options to receive financial aid or tuition refunds.

Option 1: EASY REFUND - Easy Refund is popular with students because it is the fastest method to receive the refund. When you select Easy Refund, you are opening a checking account with a HigherOne bank. As soon as Edison State College sends the funds, they are available in the HigherOne checking account. Students may then use the Edison OneCard as a debit card. The Edison OneCard is not a credit card.

Option 2: ELECTRONIC DEPOSIT (ACH) – This option allows students to have funds transferred into an existing checking account of your choice. Money will be deposited into the checking account you select 1 to 3 business days after Edison State College sends the funds. Once you have selected this option you no longer need to keep the Edison OneCard.

Option 3: PAPER CHECK - A paper check will be sent to the address you have on file with Edison State College. You receive your refund at the address you have on file with ESC in 5 to 7 business days after the College sends the funds. Once you have selected this option you no longer need to keep the Edison OneCard.

Here’s how it works:
1. A card is automatically sent to all new ESC students to the address we have on file.
2. Log on to: edisononecard.higheroneaccount.com
3. Enter the 16 digit card number in the top left corner of the screen.
4. Choose your Refund Preference.
5. Follow the computer prompts to activate your account.
6. Even if you don’t think you are getting a refund, circumstances can change, so it is a good idea to have your refund method selected.

If you are not a new student and would like to request an Edison OneCard, please visit the Cashier’s Office on your campus.
