Mireille Lauture, PhD, works in the Academic Success Program at Edison State College’s Lee Campus. Dr. Lauture has written two out of a 10 series of English/Haitian-Creole children’s books based on native folktales narrated by her mother during her childhood years in Haiti. Kathleen L. Minckler, an Edison State College alumna, is the illustrator for the series and Dr. Daniele Kellams, an ESC French Professor, is the contributing editor in all upcoming editions in the series. Dr. Lauture’s recent bilingual books titled: Bobo, the Sneaky Dog/Bobo, Chen Odasye A and Father Misery/Pè Mizè target children from elementary through middle school. Each story ends with a salient moral. Those two books will be featured at the book signing. Your autographed copies await!
