Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) Fall classes

Learn – just for the fun of it by registering for fall classes with the Lifelong Learning Institute, which begin Monday, Oct. 24.

The all-volunteer, non-profit organization affilitated with Edison State College Charlotte Campus and Elderhostel strives to provide educational activities to the residents of Charlotte County.

Advance registration and payment through the LLI office is required. Registration forms and information can be found online at www.lifelonglearning-charlotte.org or in the LLI office on campus (B114). For more information call 941-637-3533.

Monday, October 24
“Evolution of Travel: Staying Connected & Being Responsible” with Jennifer Huber, 1:00 p.m., one day class - $10
“Focus on History, Legend & Folklore of Florida” with Douglas Houck, 1:00 p.m., 4 weeks - $40

Tuesday, October 25
“Navigating the Healthcare System Thru Advocacy” with Rachel Struebing, 10:00 a.m., 4 weeks – $40
“Intermediate Bridge” with Gillian Brown, 1:00 p.m., 4 weeks - $40
“Introduction to Computers” with David Richardson, 1:00 p.m., 4 weeks - $40
“Reading the Night-Time Skies” with Dave Hanson, 7:00 p.m., 4 weeks - $40
Wednesday, October 26:
“Bring Your Writing to Life” with Paul LaFleur, 10:00 a.m., 4 weeks - $40

Thursday, October 27
“Florida in the Civil War” with Jacqueline Brown, 10:00 a.m., one day class - $10
“Wills, Trusts, & Estates” with Ellie Harris, 10:00 a.m., 4 weeks - $40
“Turning Your Hobby Into Dollars” with Gene Mongiardini, 1:00 p.m., 4 weeks - $40
“Hang Out With Harry Potter: An Adventure in Audio” with Sharon Whitehill, 6:00 p.m., 4 weeks (Tues & Thurs evenings), $60

Friday, October 28
“The Seminole Wars: Slaves, Maroons & Black Seminoles” with Martha Bireda, 10:00 a.m., 4 weeks - $40

Other activities in the Fall schedule are book club meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month, an evening lecture series that begins on November 10 with Guy Parillo and “An American Tribute”, and a day trip to the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg on November 16.
