CPR- Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider
This one day course is geared towards the interests and needs of the health professions students and taught by healthcare professionals. It offers a two year certification at completion of the course, which is required for healthcare students and healthcare workers. Upon completion of the course, students will receive their AHA (American Heart Association) Card. Our next class runs from 3pm to 6pm on Friday, November 18th and also on Saturday, November 19th from 9am to 12 noon, cost is $70.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 FOR BEGINNERS
This course is intended for beginners and will introduce the essential tools and techniques through hands-on exercises. Students will learn how to manipulate and create images using Photoshop CS3. At the end of the course students will have a better understanding of the available tools and techniques. Discover the easiest ways to create, edit, color correct, touch up, size and prepare images for your printed or electronic documents. It will be held on Saturday, November 19th from 10am to 5pm, cost is $180.

FEDERAL INCOME TAXATION UPDATE
The purpose of continuing professional education is to assist CPAs in maintaining their professional knowledge and competence. Edison College is pleased to present our “CPE for Accountants series”. This popular annual seminar is geared toward tax updates that impact business and individuals and includes tax law changes, new regulations, audit issues, planning opportunities and pitfalls, and current issues within tax laws. The class will be held on December 7th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Cost is $267.

NURSE REMEDIAL COURSE
The Nurse Remedial program is an intensive program of didactic hours and clinical experiences meant to prepare or update nurses who wish to return to the nursing force. This program is also approved by the Florida Board of Nursing for remediation of the nursing graduate who has not been successful with the NCLEX-RN exam. Lectures, home studies, skills lab and acute hospital clinical experiences are provided in a relaxed atmosphere to promote learning. Orientation begins on January 7th at 8:00am followed by a skills lab and 5 weeks of clinical held on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 7pm. The course is held from January 7th to February 26th, the cost is $1,600. Textbooks not included.

CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT W/EXTERNSHIP
This program was designed to provide, through classroom and clinical instruction, and basic systems overview of the role of the medical assistant in a clinical setting. Classroom lectures cover the theory, anatomy and terminology pertaining to each system. Clinical instruction provides hands-on training in the listed procedures verified through a skills check-off system. Students will receive comprehensive instruction in clinical medical assisting. This course provides 162 hours of classroom instruction plus 160 hour externship-(Which can be done at your speed). Course begins on January 17th to April 21st. Class held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6pm to 9:30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. Cost is $2,650. textbooks not included.

OPHTHALMOLOGY ASSISTANT PROGRAM
The Ophthalmology Technician Program provides the student with the opportunity to become a trained technician who will be well placed for positions in the Ophthalmology practices in Lee and surrounding counties. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on January 17th. Cost is $1,050.00
