Online Students and the New Student ID/Library Card

Submitted 11/29/2011

I am reaching out to you to share some information about how the new Student ID/Library Card, the Connect Card will impact our Edison Online students.

If you occasionally come to campus to utilize library services or to attend student events you must have a physical Connect Card. Your current Student ID card will expire on January 2, 2012. This means you must have a Connect Card to check out items in person at one of Edison’s libraries. Connect Cards are issued at any of our campuses or centers. You just need to show a valid picture ID.

Connect Card Issuing Locations:

LEE CAMPUS – Office of Student Life, Building S, Room 101
CHARLOTTE CAMPUS – Student Services, Building J, Room 102
COLLIER CAMPUS – Administrative Services, Building A, Room 113
HENDRY/GLADES CENTER – Student Services, Building A, Room 113

If you NEVER plan to come to campus a physical Connect Card is not necessary. However, on January 2, 2012 (or the day you receive your Connect Card) your Library PIN will default to the last 4 digits of your social security number. If you do not have a social security number or if you are an international student it will default to the last 4 digits of your Banner ID (Student Number). You are welcome to change your PIN to any 4 digit combination by clicking here.

Connect Cards are an official ID and legally cannot be issued through the US mail or by phone. All recipients must visit an issuing location in person.

I understand you may have additional questions and am happy to help. Please contact the Connect Card Office 239.432.6700 or email connectcard@edison.edu.

Sincerely,
Judy Pultro
