DRAWING II – THE NEXT STEP
In this advanced drawing course you will learn more about perspective, crosshatching, and line drawing. You will now begin to sharpen your skills as an artist and learn new techniques that will carry your skills to the next level. This 8 week course will be held on Wednesdays, February 1 to March 28, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Cost is $180.
MEMOIR WRITING FROM THE SOUL
In this class students will be encouraged to share their memories, so students need to be open to feedback from their peers. This class is open to both the experienced writer as well as the novice. This class held on Wednesdays, February 1 to March 28, from 10am to 11:30am. Cost is $140.
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS4
The Adobe Illustrator course will give you the basics as well as the opportunity to develop further skills and become proficient at using this powerful layout program. Adobe® Illustrator® CS4 software is a comprehensive vector graphics environment with new transparency in gradients and multiple art boards that invite you to explore more efficient ways to dedays, February 1 to March 28, from 10am to 11:30am. Cost is $350.
GLASS FUSING WORKSHOP
The class will be a hands-on experience using these methods to create original pieces. The costs of Materials depend on the projects you are making. This 5 week session will be held on Fridays, February 3 to March 2 from 10am to 1pm. Cost is $160.
CPR- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT FOR THE HEALTH CARE PROVIDER
This one day course is geared towards the interests and needs of the health professions students and taught by healthcare professionals. It offers a two year certification at completion of the course, which is required for healthcare students and healthcare workers. Upon completion of the course, students will receive their AHA (American Heart Association) Card. Our next class runs on Friday, February 3 & 24, from 3pm to 6pm, cost is $70 and includes textbook in PDF format.
SCULPTING WITH FABRIC AND PAPER- SITTING FIGURE
This class is an exercise in textile and natural fiber sculpting using Paverpol, a textile hardener new to the U.S. Learn about this new medium from Holland that is sweeping the USA and its many artist communities. This 2 week class will be held on Saturdays, February 4 & 11, from 9am to 12:30pm. Cost is $100. There is also a $35.00 Beginners Kit You will need to obtain from the instructor the first day of class.
RAGING RIVETS WORKSHOP
Riveting is the art of mechanically joining two parts without the need for soldering. Students will focus on learning various types of rivets to create a decorative linked bracelet using this simple construction technique. Pre-Requisite: Basic wire-working skills. This 1 day workshop will be held on Sunday, February 5, from 10am-4pm Cost is $120 plus materials (approx. $20.00).
ACTING WITH SCENE STUDY
Students will learn and participate in the fundamentals of Method Acting as developed and practiced at the Actors Studio in New York and Los Angeles. Participants will focus on developing a “truthful” inner life. Audition procedures, cold reading, and differences between Film and Stage acting will also be addressed. This class is held on Tuesdays, February 7 to April 3,from 5pm to 8pm. Cost is $260.
