POTTERY WHEEL THROWING FOR BEGINNERS
This is the class to learn the basics of Wheel-thrown pottery. The beginning potter will learn to prepare the clay to work on the wheel and learn the basic skills of centering and throwing bowl, cylinder and plate forms. This 8 week class will be held on Wednesdays, February 8 to April 4, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Cost is $180.
BEADED JEWELRY DESIGN
Students will learn the Basics of Jewelry making, the tools and proper usage, and the variety of materials that are available. The different methods of assembly such as, stringing, knotting, and more will be covered. Instructor will give students a supply list the first night of class. This 6 week class will be held on Tuesdays, February 14 to March 27, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Cost is $120.
SOCIAL NETWORKING FOR JOB SEEKERS
This two week course will take you step by step in developing your professional profiles and networks to expand your job search on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. We will teach you how to use these tools to find employment on these sites, as well as using your profiles on the leading job boards. The course will be tailored to your individual needs so you can join groups and network within companies and industries you want to work for. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am to 12pm from February 14 to February 23. Cost is $60. Must be able to use a computer and have a flash drive or disk which contains a complete resume and a professional looking picture of yourself.
PRECIOUS METAL CLAY
Metal Clay is a term applied to several forms and types of metal powders mixed with organic binders and water to form a malleable material that can be shaped, molded or worked as a typical clay, dried then fired either in a kiln or with a torch with causes the binder to burn away leaving a finished piece that is pure metal. Student will learn the basics for using the product. Items that are found in the home can be used as tools. This 6 week class will be held on Wednesdays, February 15 to March 28, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Cost is $120.
WIRE WORKING JEWELRY
Learn the basics about wire, the tools used in working with wire and how to use various techniques to make wire jewelry. Explore some of the uses of wire in jewelry throughout history. Several simple basic shapes and techniques will be taught. A number of designs will be shown using the basics and to improve the students skills in combining different shapes and techniques to create their own unique pieces of jewelry. This 6 week class will be held on Thursdays, February 16 to March 29, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Cost is $120.
GLASS BEADMAKING- BEGINNERS
To make glass beads, the students will learn how to melt small rods of glass in the flame of a torch. The melted glass is then wrapped around a stainless steel rod and the bead is shaped by controlling the heat in the glass and with gravity and tools. Other colors of glass are then applied for decoration. Once the bead has cooled in the kiln, the stainless steel rod is removed and the hole of the bead is cleaned and ready for stringing. Every week the instructor will demo a bead technique or bead design. The student will have the rest of the class time to practice these techniques and incorporate them into their own bead designs. This 6 week class will be held on Thursdays, February 16 to March 29, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Cost is $140.
SPANISH IS FUN – INTERMEDIATE
This Spanish Conversational course picks up where the beginners class ends. Classes run for 6 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8:30pm. Starts on February 28 to April 10, cost is $165. Textbook not included.
SPANISH IS FUN – ADVANCED
The Advanced Class is directed towards gaining a greater competency in the spoken language. Classes run for 6 weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 8:30pm. Starts on February 29 to April 11, cost is $165. Textbook not included.
