SOAP (Standards of Academic Progress) -
The Edison community wants every student to succeed academically, personally and socially while enrolled at the College. In order to identify and provide help for those students having academic difficulty, the College has identified Standards of Academic Progress or S.O.A.P.
- to inform a student when s/he is not making appropriate academic progress
- to meet with an Academic Advisor or a Counselor to discuss ways of improving their academic status
- all degree programs at Edison as well as certificate programs require a minimum of a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)
- letters are sent to students, via the US postal service, from The District Director of Counseling, Advising, & Assessment when the student is placed on any of the last four levels of SOAP
- Consult the college catalog for further information www.edison.edu/academics/20072008catalog.pdf
