All students, staff, and faculty at Edison have access to a personal email account and calendar account. Portal technology is also available to students through the myEdisonState Portal. Within the portal, students have access to a variety of tools, including instant access to online courses, grades, and their email. The Portal can also be customized so students can receive information targeted specifically for them.
- Students and faculty have access to state-of-the-art computing facilities, including 73 computer labs housing over 1,200 computers. Edison also offers 98 multimedia classrooms to enhance the learning experience.
- In addition to the opportunity to take advantage of these technological advances on campus, students can go through orientation, check grades, check calendar and email and even take classes online from a computer at home.

Computer Competencies:
Students should be aware that many of Edison’s courses require a certain level of proficiency with technology. You should strive to maintain the following level of competencies:
Effective computer operation skills include (1) starting up and shutting down hardware; (2) identify and use icons, windows and menus; (3) start and stop software applications; and (4) name, save, retrieve and revise a document. The student must also have effective Internet skills that include (1) ability to use e-mail; (2) use of browser application; and (3) navigation of Internet sites.
