Ivan Guerrero
Student Government Association President
The name’s Ivan Guerrero and I am proud to be your new SGA President. My goal as SGA President is to bring more student involvement in extracurricular activities and establish Edison State College (ESC) as more than just a college but a memorable experience.
While I was born here in Fort Myers, Florida I was raised in Brownsville, Texas and am Mexican. I graduated in 2005 from Rivera High School but didn’t follow the traditional college transition after high school. However, a yearning grew inside me to pursue something much more meaningful, and with the support of my family I applied at ESC and was accepted. In the spring of 2010 I began college and immersed myself in the extracurricular aspect of clubs where I found my passion. I joined many clubs including the Creative Writing Club, AASA, LASA, Rotaract, SGA and CAB. These clubs helped spur my enthusiasm and, with the aid of Professor Cynthia Enslen, to create a new club called Talking and Listening Klub (T.A.L.K.) and lead them to great heights. This leadership role has helped cultivate a strong sense of direction and motivation for me. While I’ve finished my Associates Degree here at ESC in the spring of 2012, my journey continues as I undertake a Bachelor’s in Supervision and Management. I’ll be the voice of, you, the student body and keep your best interests in mind while serving as President of SGA. My door is open to all, so visit me and introduce yourselves.
