| The Advising and Counseling Office provides services to students who might be faced with many challenges during their academic progress. The office in cooperation with many 'student success' programs and services provides valuable information and assistance. Whether it be in advising, orientation, student clubs/organizations or just a quick question, the office is available to any student needing support and assistance during their college experience. |

On campus and off campus referral resources are provided for students experiencing challenges in college or in their personal lives that could be affecting their success in pursuing their educational goals. We take pride in "Changing Lives for the Better." Our goal is to be there as a positive support for unexpected challenges that students may encounter along the way. We celebrate in the many accomplishments that students achieve during their academic progress.
In order to encourage positive and productive educational experiences we strongly recommend that all first time college students who are undecided about their education or career goals, or returning adult students who want to enhance their college survival skills enroll in SLS 1101, College Success Skills, a three credit hour elective course.
Edison State College provides many valuable resources of which any student can participate in. Students are encouraged to contact the Office of Retention Services, located in Advising and Counseling, Taeni Student Services Hall (S-246) at 239-489-9394, via e-mail at kkennedy@edison.edu or call toll free at (800)-749-2322 extension 1394.
