Having grown up in Southern California, Therese Walker’s wanderlust set in and took her to live in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, South Carolina, and Washington DC, finally settling in the suburbs of Atlanta where she called it home for 25 years.  She spent her first career in the travel industry that enabled her to travel all over the US, Canada, Mexico, Tahiti, and to several countries in Europe.  Her insatiable curiosity in the history of the places she has been is coupled with her desire to understand why it happened and how we learn from it.

Mrs. Walker brings to the ECHS Social Studies classroom a knowledge of research skills and reading strategies, but also her curiosity about the world and our individual place in it, anecdotes from her travels, and the understanding that in time our students will have to make tough decisions that will affect our ‘whole’ world.

When Mrs. Walker is not occupied with genealogy research, she and Mr. Walker are either spending time on their boat the Yankee Belle, spending time with family at the ranch in Colorado, or with their new grand-daughter, Savannah, in California.
