The Edison State College Libraries Research Skills Assessment Rubric provides a guideline for developing and assessing assignments that encourage students to demonstrate the ability to identify, locate, understand, evaluate, and use information. The ideal assignment provides an opportunity for the student to articulate a problem to be solved through research skills. Recommended assignments include the Annotated Bibliography, Research Journal, Literature Review, Essay, and Research Paper.
